Social and affordable housing: Investment deep dive

Written by The Good Economy and Ouri Labs, this new investment deep dive focuses on social and affordable housing in the UK. It collates existing research to provide an overview of the key challenges facing the sector and presents both the impact and the investment opportunity for asset allocators. It then offers guidance on community-centred approaches, to ensure people and places thrive.

We know that significant investment is needed to create affordable, good quality homes and places where communities can thrive. To achieve that, local people must have a meaningful voice in shaping what is built and how it’s managed.

We commissioned The Good Economy and Ouri Labs for this deep dive to help us understand more about the role that impact investment can play. The report shares lessons from community-led models, synthesising these into practical tools for investors, whilst also demonstrating their potential not just for greater investment, but raising standards too.

Importantly, it challenges all of us – funders, developers, policymakers, and investors towards genuine partnership with communities.
