It also means it is well-placed to improve understanding of racial inequity and their widespread effects amongst policymakers and the public, as well as inform the change needed for racial justice.
This strength of their approach is demonstrated by the prominent role they played in exposing to a range of issues including the Windrush scandal, the disproportionate impact of COVID on people experiencing racial inequity, and highlighting the link between systemic racism the environmental emergency.
