Esmée Fairbairn Foundation is a Living Wage funder.
This means we encourage our applicants to pay their staff the UK Real Living wage as a minimum.
It is not a requirement for the posts that we are funding to be paid at these minimum levels. We recognise there are issues for applicants for funding in terms of maintaining pay differentials, specifically where there are a number of identical posts funded through different sources or where a single post is funded by more than a single funder.
If organisations aren’t able to pay the Living Wage for any reason, this does not mean we won’t fund these applications. It simply means we want to fund at the Real Living Wage levels wherever possible.
