Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is acknowledged as a severe form of violence against women and girls and a human rights violation that affects at least 200 million women and girls (UNICEF, 2016) around the world. Even though FGM being a deeply embedded social norm with complicated and different socio-cultural justifications, it is a dangerous and harmful practice which can lead to severe physical and mental health problems.
