We have updated our grant funding guidance for support in Creative, Confident Communities.
Whilst our funding priorities have not changed, we wanted to make our funding guidance clearer so that organisations interested in applying are better able to understand the types of work we’re looking to support.
Why we updated the guidance
In 2023, we made 46 grants, totalling £14.5m, for work towards our priorities in Creative, Confident Communities. Of those 46 grants, 16 came from applications through our website, However, we received 472 applications through this way, and we’re conscious of the amount of effort being put into applications when we are making so few grants.
We want to remain open to applications and hope the updated guidance will make it clearer to see what we are looking to fund, and easier for organisations to understand whether they should invest time in applying to us. We are hosting a Pre-application Q&A webinar on 14 November where the team will talk through the guidance and application process. We’ll spend most of the time answering questions.
Our funding priorities in Creative, Confident Communities:
- Communities working together for change
- Community driven enterprise and regeneration
- Community-led art and creativity
See the updated guidance for Creative, Confident Communities for more information.
Please note, this will take you to the section for this area of work. We recommend you read the other sections of the guidance, which outline the application process along with how we make decisions.
What does this mean for new applications or applications already in process?
We appreciate that you may be working on an application to us under the previous wording or have an application in process - we will take this into account during the assessment process.
Questions
If you have a question, please send it to us by email to: communications@esmeefairbairn.org.uk. We will also answer questions live during the webinar but if you submit your question in advance, we can make sure we answer your question as best we can.
