Dr Wanda Wyporska

Dr Wanda Wyporska
Dr Wanda Wyporska, FRHistS, is Chief Executive Officer of Safe Passage International. Before this, she was Chief Executive of the Black Equity Organisation, Chief Executive of the Society of Genealogists, and previously led The Equality Trust. She has served as an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion advisor to the Mayor of London’s Recovery Board and was on the ONS Inclusive Data Taskforce.
She was a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of York, is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, judged the 2021 Pen Hessell-Tiltman History Award, and her first book, Witchcraft in Early Modern Poland 1500-1800, was shortlisted for the Katharine Briggs Folklore Award.
A Starun Senior Scholar at Hertford College, Oxford, she has lectured at a number of universities and is a regular keynote speaker. She has spoken at the UN in Geneva, York Talks, the Oxford Union, and the Women of the World Festival. Wanda has appeared on Newsnight, Question Time, BBC Radio 4’s The Moral Maze, CH4, BBC and Sky News and has written for a number of national and regional media.
Dr Wyporska was recognised as one of 21 to watch in 2021 by Charity Times and as Best Charity CEO on Social Media in 2020. She is also a trustee of the National Football Museum.
