On behalf of everyone at Esmée Fairbairn Foundation it is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of John Sydney Fairbairn on 12 January 2020.
John was nephew of the Foundation’s founder, Ian Fairbairn, a Trustee for a remarkable 42 years (1966 – 2008) and Chairman for 15 years (1988 – 2003).
John was a kind and thoughtful man, with great passion for Esmée and its work, who made a huge contribution to the evolution and development of the Foundation into one of the UK’s leading independent funders.
At this time our thoughts are with his family to all of whom we offer our sincere condolences.
