We're hosting a webinar to explore learning from Esmée's Blue Spaces programme, which was established to support communities to take action to improve their local freshwaters.
The programme set out to encourage partnership working as well as reflect a range of stakeholder aspirations, engage communities, leverage additional resources, and enable more integrated approaches to freshwater action. To date, the Blue Spaces programme has supported 26 projects across the UK, totalling £4.1m. In addition to funding, the programme included a learning programme and peer network. Funding was primarily through development grants to support organisations to develop their ideas and explore their potential to become sustainable longer-term initiatives.
What will the webinar feature?
In the webinar, we'll be delving into some of the themes highlighted by a new report that shares insights from the programme including the funding process as well as the brilliant work being done. And we’re really pleased to be joined by a couple of the funded projects and a member of our Involving Young People Collective.

- The panel will answer questions live. But so that we can answer as many questions as possible, members of the team will also be typing responses in the Q&A facility. Please don't worry if you miss anything, we will be sharing the recording and transcript afterwards, and if you need clarification on anything after the webinar ends, send us an email.
- For any questions we are not able to answer during the webinar, we will do our best to answer them afterwards and share them along with the recordings and transcript.
- Please note that everyone will be able to see questions added – so please do not share personal information or sensitive information about your organisation.
- We will also try to prioritise questions we think may be relevant to more people.
- Sending messages to the panel and attendees
Please note that Zoom's Chat facility will be disabled for attendees. This is so we can manage questions better and avoid missing questions that might have been shared in the Chat. We will, however, use the Chat to share information. If you would like to send us a message, please email us at communications@esmeefairbairn.org.uk.
